The 5 Pillars of UX: Designing for the Human Experience

User Experience (UX) is the bridge between business goals and human needs. It is often confused with UI (User Interface), but while UI is the "look," UX is the logic behind how a user interacts with a system.

1. User Research and Empathy

You are not the user. This is the golden rule. Before designing, create "User Personas" representing your target audience. Conduct interviews or A/B testing to validate your assumptions rather than relying on intuition.

2. Information Architecture (IA)

IA is how you organize and label content. A well-structured site map ensures a user never feels "lost." Use the "Three-Click Rule": a user should be able to find any piece of information on your site within three clicks.

3. Wireframing and Prototyping

Never jump straight into high-fidelity designs. Start with "low-fi" wireframes to map out the user flow. This allows you to test the logic of the navigation without getting distracted by colors or fonts.

4. Accessibility (A11y)

A great UX is inclusive. This means designing for people with color blindness, low vision, or motor impairments. Ensure high color contrast and make sure your entire site can be navigated using only a keyboard.

5. Interaction Design and Feedback

Users need to know the system is responding. If they click a button, it should change color. If a form is submitting, show a loading spinner. This "feedback loop" reduces user anxiety.
